CSF Chair moderated Mindful Money political panel

Bridget Coates, Chair of the Centre for Sustainable Finance: Toitū Tahua, recently moderated a political panel discussion at the Mindful Money event in Tāmaki Makaurau. The panel featured Labour candidate Oscar Sims, National MP Simon Watts, and Green Party MP Julie Anne Genter.

The discussion centered on topics that are pivotal for shaping a sustainable future. These included the pressing need for strong political leadership, the importance of a cross-functional political system, and the urgency of credible climate reduction and adaptation plans. Moreover, the panel stressed the significance of fostering enduring partnerships between government entities and the private sector to secure the necessary funding and financing for sustainability initiatives.

At the heart of the dialogue was a shared commitment to mobilise investments that will drive positive change and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future for our communities and environment.
