CSF Elevates Responsible Investment at RIAA Conference

CSF Board members were pleased to support the RIAA conference in Auckland recently.

With Simon O’Connor’s impending departure, it was an opportunity to thank him for his outstanding service to RIAA over 10 years. Anne-Maree O'Connor, Head of Responsible Investment at NZ Super Fund, presented a gift to Simon on behalf of RIAA members.

Pip Best contributed to a panel on making responsible investment accessible, explaining recent Trans-Tasman regulatory and policy developments which will accelerate progress on sustainable finance.

Matt Whineray delivered the keynote speech, outlining how NZSF made the shift to considering the potential impact of their investments on environment and social outcomes, as well as the climate and ESG risks it contains. See here.

The systemic nature of these risks means that investors like the NZ Super Fund, a universal owner with a very long horizon, can’t stock pick our way around these problems, or diversify away from them – they are innate to the system.”
